Holy fuck.Įdit: Figured out how it works somewhat, for example 0 0 0 1 0 would convert to 0 0 0 (10), so 0 0 0 1 3 would convert to 0 0 0 (13) and 0 0 0 1 4 would convert to 0 0 1 0.
Like for example the transporter room 5x4 translator puzzle in ZTD, I've spent the last twenty minutes or so trying to figure out how to convert from 10 decimal to 13 decimal without resorting to google.Īnd that's just one part of one puzzle in an entire puzzle room. just be aware that the transporter puzzle is, by far, the hardest one in the game, it only gets easier after that. Monty Hall is a famous math problem and it's really hard to figure out, but it's not just a ZTD thing, so google can help you out there, so it's not often seen as an actually difficult bit.īut I see you probably haven't finished the game yet - it doesn't have 15 rooms (only 13), so I won't spoil any further. I honestly think it'd be easier to put that piece of crap together IRL. It has a really godawful puzzle interface, not intuitive at all. I'll add one other part I struggled with - the puzzle cube in the infirmary. although it's slightly disappointing to me that three symbols cannot be decoded by math alone and you need that silly machine to help you out. It's at least as hard as most of VLR's stuff, maybe more. ZTD is often seen as the easiest game (puzzle-wise), with one major exception: the transporter puzzle. (Also, some of the file puzzles can go to hell, especially the infirmary one, which is the worst puzzle in the game) I mean, it does have easy mode, so that balances things out, but if you're actually trying to do things yourself, you're in for some tough stuff. because the overwhelming consensus (and I agree with it) seems to be that VLR is the hardest one.
I don't know where they're getting that number from but whoever's getting 21 hour average playtime without walkthroughing the puzzles is the second coming of jesus Meanwhile how long to beat has this game at 21 hours. Meaning 90 hours just on puzzle solving lol. Without a walkthrough to figure out which things go where, and that two hour number goes up to probably 6-never. Two whole hours for one room, meaning if there are 15 rooms then the puzzles alone would take me 30 hours.
To any of you who actually do these puzzles on your own- you're a genius among geniuses.Įdit: Just checked, it took me two hours to clear one puzzle room (transporter room in ztd), and I used the walkthrough for putting things in the right places but not the actual puzzles I've used a walkthrough for most of the puzzles just to experience the story, and even with a walkthrough some of these puzzles are just exercises in mindfucking.Įven some of the simpler problems, such as the monty hall problem in ZTD which is relatively simple and can be proven by writing out the scenarios, I googled and apparently thousands of math professors mailed in arguing the solution when it was first televised. I think zero time dilemma is the worst one so far.
Not sure how to phrase this the best way, maybe this'll work- I have a lot of mental horsepower to work with, and even then some of the puzzles in this series are way too fucking hard lol. For any of you who did that nuclear room or that pig room without a walkthrough, you're a genius.
